Samsung with its continuous innovations has created rebellion into mobile history. Speaking and exploring more about its previous attainments and victory, I will directly take you into the pool of Galaxy S5 explaining all its new features, specs and summons. Samsung is a power house and its productivity is its dynamism.
The phone comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and a new version of Samsung’s Touch Wiz interface. Meanwhile, a 2800mAh battery should give the S5 enough juice to easily last a day (Samsung claims 21 hours of talk time), and as with previous Galaxy S phones it’s swappable. You also get a choice between 16GB and 32GB of expandable storage (you can add up to 64GB extra via micro SD), and there’s a micro USB 3.0 port for quick transfer speeds. One major improvement over the S4 is IP67 waterproofing, bringing the S5 into line with Sony’s Xperia phones. It’s sealed to prevent any water or dust getting inside, so you can dunk the handset into water for as long as 30 minutes and it won’t protest one bit. The camera’s best new feature is its super-fast autofocus, which Samsung claims is the fastest on any smartphone at up to 0.3 seconds.
Exact measurements are 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1mm and the handset weighs in at 145g, making it heavier, thicker and larger than the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S5 will be available in a range of colours including Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold. Samsung says the overall design of the new Galaxy S5 is “glam” in its press release, which, if we’re honest, just makes us think of this guy.

As predicted, there’s going to be more than one version of the Galaxy S5 at launch. We know that the UK, as well as most of Europe, will be getting the Snapdragon 801 version and the reason for this is LTE. At launch Samsung confirmed the Galaxy S5 as carrying the Snapdragon 801. In a quieter launch some 24-hours later, Samsung told Engadget that certain markets around the globe – those with little to no LTE – would be getting a different version of the handset; one with a 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos processor. The official Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is actually April. In terms of price there’s no point hoping that Samsung might offer the Galaxy S5 at a more competitive rate than its predecessors, coming in at £599 in the UK with other regions still to set their own prices.
The Galaxy S5 is crammed full of new tech and thus the price tag makes a certain degree of sense – we’re still waiting to see where it will land when it comes to contracts, but it will be at the higher end.
